Home Learning
We believe that good homework activities enable parents to take a closer interest in their children’s development and reinforce a good work ethic.
The common goal of wanting to help children to succeed helps to build closer relationships between school and home. Home learning should help to build confidence and self-esteem and develop, in children, greater self-discipline and a realisation of the rewards that hard work brings. In addition to this, we know that children who get into the habit of a homework routine are better ready for secondary school.
Formal homework is set weekly, as outlined in our Home Learning Policy, and we also have a ‘home learning badge’ scheme, which encourages some much more creative possibilities, with lots of lovely ‘learning rich’ activities that parents will love to do with their children. All they have to do is show that they have completed the activity, pay 50p on parent pay, and we will give them a badge to celebrate their completion of the task!
